Paper Rolled Hares

Paper Rolled Hares

Thu 26 Mar 19:00 - 21:00
Sakura Studio Gallery, Stonham
£30
Arts & Culture

Overview

In this evening taster session, you'll transform preloved paper into a layered 3D silhouette using the calming, rhythmic technique of rolling paper tubes. It's tactile, soothing, and surprisingly addictive.

You'll leave with a framed piece of artwork ready to hang the moment you get home – no drying time, no waiting, just pure making.

This session is a perfect introduction to the technique and a great warm-up for our advanced masterclass later in the year, where we'll explore shading, detail, and more complex builds.

What You'll Master

  • Paperrolling basics – the repetitive, grounding technique that keeps your hands busy and your mind settled.
  • Constructing a 3D silhouette – craft an animal silhouette using rolled paper, using colour to add depth and texture.
  • Working with preloved paper – turning rescued materials into something genuinely beautiful.
  • A finished, framed piece ready to display the second you walk out.

Who It's For

  • ADHDers, fidgeters, creatives, and anyone who loves a hands-on project with instant payoff.
  • Total beginners – no drawing, no design skills, no blank-page panic.
  • Dates, mates & teams – a fun, unique activity for couples, groups, or team building.
  • Gift givers – the perfect “something different” experience present.

Format & Duration

  • 2 hours – quick, focused, and satisfying from start to finish.
  • All materials included – preloved paper, tools, templates, and a box frame.
  • Small group – maximum 12 for a relaxed, supported vibe.
  • Refreshments – hot drinks and biscuits to keep the creativity flowing.
